Nick Wood, MCIP, RPP
Vice-President, Development Planning
Nick Wood has extensive development and land use experience working in both public and private sectors. Nick has received his MES(Pl) graduate degrees from York University, specializing in planning policy and public space. Nick is a registered professional planner with the Ontario Professional Planning Institute and Canadian Institute of Planners. Nick has provided expert witness testimony at the Ontario Land Tribunal on both settlement and contested hearings. Nick has worked on a variety of projects including residential, commercial and industrial. His technical understanding of the planning process has been key to the success of many completed projects. Nick's role at CLS is to oversee the successful completion of projects and to advance the firm's project portfolio.
Candice Hood
Development Planner
Candice Hood graduated in Human Geography in 2010 at Brock University. It was at Brock University where Candice found an interest in Urban Planning and how development along with planning policies shape our communities. After graduating at Mohawk College in 2012 in Urban & Regional Planning – GIS and at Ryerson University in 2016 in Environment & Urban Sustainability, Candice brings with her the knowledge of the environment, technical abilities with AutoCad as well as planning policy review experience. Candice’s role as a Development Planner is to help develop Conceptual Plans, Site Plans etc., create maps for development potential, lead planning projects as well as provide overall planning policy and technical support for all CLS projects.
Jonabelle Ceremuga
BES, MCIP, RPP
Senior Associate Development Planner
At CLS with experience focused on land development providing expertise in land use policy, development consulting and urban design. Jonabelle has worked on several large and small development projects across the GTA, County of Simcoe, and Durham Region, mainly involved in all aspects of land development including Official Plan and Zoning By-law Amendments, Site Plan Approvals, Draft Plan of Subdivision, Minor Variance and Consent. Her contributions entail analysing municipal policies, guidelines and urban design best practices to understand compatibility of built form and development contribution into the public realm. Jonabelle received her bachelor’s degree in Environmental Studies in Planning at University of Waterloo, specializing in land development and urban design. Jonabelle’s role as a Senior Associate Development Planner includes project management of development projects, and ensuring that development projects are advancing in a timely manner.
Alicia Monteith, BES
Manager of Development Planning
Alicia Monteith joined the firm in 2023 and provides clients with a variety of planning consulting services including due diligence exercises, planning and policy reviews, and leading multidisciplinary teams as a project manager to obtain approvals for the full range of development applications for residential, commercial and mixed-use projects throughout Ontario. Alicia has previous experience in the private sector as a planning consultant and as an in-house urban planner with a developer. Alicia received her Bachelor of Environmental Studies Honors Co-op Planning (BES) with a minor in Geography and Environmental Management from the University of Waterloo in June 2016. Alicia is currently a candidate member of the Ontario Professional Planners Institute.
Harry Aasman, BA
Senior Planning Technician
Harry Aasman graduated McMaster University in 2015 with a degree in Sociology and Geography. Following his graduation Harry pursued his
interests in urban planning and development and entered the Mohawk College Urban and Regional Planning Technician program, which he graduated in 2017. Since then, Harry has been applying the skills he learned as a planning
technician through site design, project management, policy review, and the
preparation of various reports amongst many other things. Currently, Harry's role as Senior Planning Technician includes various responsibilities such as preparing any type of plan or map required for a project (Concept Plans, Site Plans, Plans of Subdivision etc.), project management, as well as technical support for all projects CLS is involved with.
